OBJECTIVE

1AZAM provides opportunities to generate income to low-income people. Expected income between RM760 to RM2, 300 a month.

AIM OF THE PROJECT

Project 1AZAM was introduced to provide jobs for the hardcore poor and poor people of Malaysia to increase income to exceed the limits specified poverty line of RM760 per month for the poor and under RM2300 per month for low-income earners.

Provide opportunities for low-income people to generate income. Economic empowerment of low-income people. Encourage low-income people to be independent.

IMPLEMENTATION

1AZAM program is conducted throughout the country in stages. The pilot program was initiated in the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) or Iskandar Malaysia, Johor, at the end of January 2010. Initiatives will be forwarded to other states through cooperation with economic corridor areas north, east, Sabah and Sarawak, which was launched by the previous government of the formation of the National Key Result Areas or known as the National Key Results Area (NKRA). Overall, the initiative will focus 1AZAM open job opportunities to Malaysians through the relocation of jobs filled by foreign workers. The proposal to the government to introduce laboratory NKRA Minimum Wages to various industries and sectors of employment offered to the Malaysian workforce, the job market will see Malaysian workers earning at least RM760 a month to low qualified workers and semi-skilled workers.

Opportunities to generate income through work placements. Program focusing on various areas of employment for those who are productive, minimum qualifications or without skills. Skills training provided.
Examples of work include:
• Sales
• Household Management
• The fast food restaurant
• Waiters
• Hotel employment
• Income Generating Program as tailors and frozen business

Opportunities to generate income through agriculture-based activities. Among the projects identified are:
• Clustered Agriculture
• Plants that have a quick return
• Livestock
• Downstream agricultural project

Income generating opportunities through small business with training and micro-credit facilities. Examples of business is:
• Food and drink
• Kiosks
• Retail Business
• Handicraft Industry

Opportunities to generate income through service areas such as:
• Treatment of personal care
• Andaman bride
• Spa and Reflexology

Participants were given the choice either involved in part-time or full-time. They can also be involved as entrepreneurs or employees.
