JKM Aid Recipients In Kedah Will Receive BR1M Soon
KULIM, May 15 (Bernama) — The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry has given assurance that almost 80,000 Social Welfare Department’s (JKM) aid recipients in Kedah will also receive the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) soon.
Its deputy minister, Senator Datuk Heng Seai Kie, when giving the assurance, also advised the recipients not to believe any rumours spread by certain quarters trying to belittle the aid.
“I will investigate the rumours to ensure that all JKM aid recipients in Kedah will also receive BR1M,” she told reporters after opening ‘Jom Masuk Kampung’ programme at Rumah Bakti here today.
Heng said the issue concerning a recipient with seeing disability who was reported to have not receive the aid, was probably due to technical glitch.
When opening and presenting an allocation of RM50,000 to the Kamaskshi Community Development Centre in Taman Tiram, Lunas, earlier, she also said that the government had spent RM307.5 million to provide facilities for 106,330 persons with disabilities (OKU) nationwide. — BERNAMA
