KUALA LUMPUR: More people are benefiting from the 1Azam “End the Poverty” programme introduced by the government in 2010 to improve the standard of living of city dwellers, especially the low-income earners.

Through the Azam Niaga (Business) aid, participants were trained and guided through a socio-economic and innovative approach to pick the trades they were interested in based on individual potential.

In a bid to encourage more people to be active in business, 45 participants of the Azam Niaga programme in Bandar Tun Razak here received their business starter kits under the 1Malaysia People’s Welfare Programme (KAR1SMA) 2013 in a special ceremony yesterday.

Twenty-three Social Welfare Department aid recipients also received disability (OKU) cards and approval letters for KAR1SMA aid. Bernama
