Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has announced a 10 per cent dividend for the shares in the National Farmers Fund which he launched in 2012.

He said the first year’s dividend would benefit farmer’s associations at the state and district levels and 850,000 members of the National Farmers Organisation (Nafas).

Najib said the government would also decide on the type of assistance that it would give after Nafas managed to collect RM100 million initial capital for the fund.

At the function Najib also launched the 1Azam Entrepreneurs Club for his Pekan parliamentary constituency at Dataran Pekan.

He said the government had spent RM2 billion to help develop 140,296 small entrepreneurs under the 1Azam programme since 2010.

In Pekan, he said 736 participants, including 709 women, had benefited from the programme with an allocation totalling RM3.7 million.
