More than 70,000 non-pensionable veterans throughout the country are also eligible to receive the 1Malaysia People’s Aid 2.0 (BR1M 2.0) of RM500 although they are being given the one-off 1Malaysia Veterans Contribution of RM1,000, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr. Awang Adek Hussin.

He said the only condition for them to receive BR1M 2.0 was that their monthly income should not exceed RM3,000.

“This means that they quality to receive both types of aid which total RM1,500,” he told reporters after handing over 1Malaysia Veterans Contribution to 329 recipients from the Bachok parliamentary constituency here today.

Also present was Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Dr. Abdul Latif Ahmad and Malaysian Ex-Servicemen’s Association President Datuk Mohamad Abdul Ghani.

Awang Adek was clarifying confusion on veteran’s eligibility for BR1M 2.0 following both the aid being given out simultaneously beginning the 2nd of February.
