Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin urged the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Scheme (PR1MA) management to allocate a 30 per cent quota for Bumiputeras and the youth.

He said PR1MA’s distribution system through balloting did not guarantee Bumiputeras and young house buyers to own a unit, and urged the management to review its system.

“When balloting system is used, it will not guarantee there will be at least 30 per cent Bumiputera buyers, unlike any development of affordable and medium-cost houses which has such condition.

“We urge PR1MA to change the home distribution system to include a special quota for Bumiputeras and youth,” he said after chairing the Umno Youth executive council meeting at Putra World Trade Centre.

Khairy, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, said they would submit a memorandum to PR1MA’s top management.
