Recipients of the Social Security Organisation’s (Socso) derivative pension and permanent disability benefits (periodic) would no longer be required to produce their annual declaration through Form 117 from January.

Its chief executive Datuk K Selvarajah said the new regulation would facilitate 41,384 derivative pension recipients and 18,167 permanent disability benefit recipients who were required to declare each year to continue receiving the pension and benefits.

“However, the regulation is not applicable to recipients of survivor’s pension and dependants’ benefits who would still need to declare their eligibility before the end of the year through Form 117,” he said in a statement.

Selvarajah added that Form 117 which have been sent to all recipients in October could also be obtained at Socso offices or downloaded from its website at or contact 03-42575755 to enquire.
