The Social Security Organisation (Socso) is targeting new development areas to nab employers who fail to comply with the requirement to make contributions to the organisation through the on-going Ops Kesan.

Its chief executive officer Datuk K.Selvarajah said this because there are a lot of businesses opening at these areas and Socso wants to ensure that these businesses comply with the requirement.

“The main aim of Ops Kesan is not to punish these employers but to educate them about the importance of making contribution to Socso, which would protect their employees under Socso schemes. Complying with the Socso requirements would also protect employers from lawsuits if their employees are involved in any accidents,” said Selvarajah.

He was speaking to the media after launching the national-level Ops Kesan at the Socso office in Larkin here. Also present were deputy chief executive officer (operations) Datuk Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed and Johor Socso director Tan Bi Fong.
